Why is my Website Autoscaling?

All of our shared web hosting services use 20i's proprietary autoscaling technology, meaning all websites on our shared hosting infrastructure will autoscale according to their needs. Autoscaling means that the resources provided to your website will scale automatically with its usage. Bandwidth, memory and processing power are scaled up, or down, immediately, depending on demand. The beauty of 20i's autoscaling infrastructure is that a website isn't hosted on a single server but has access to the whole platform's resources via multiple servers.

If your website is experiencing a lot of autoscaling adjustments, this isn't something to worry about. Our platform is scaling your website according to its needs, granting access to more power when needed.

You may see the phrase 'Autoscaled Script Executions' under the Autoscaled Sites Widget in My20i. This refers to the use of automated scripts to adjust the amount of resources your website receives, based on the site's current usage. If your website's traffic increases significantly in a short period of time, the site will be autoscaled up accordingly, and the metric will increase. The same goes for if the available resources aren't used by the website and are autoscaled down.
