If your website is down, the issue can typically be found by following these steps.

Check the PHP error logs

Check the PHP error logs for your website, which can be found by going to Manage Hosting > Options > Manage > Access/Error Logs. These logs provide detailed records of any issues that occurred on your server during the execution of PHP scripts.

Looking for any 'Fatal Errors' is a good start when using the error logs to debug a website problem as these will usually result in a 500 error.

Use the 20i autodiagnostics tools

Running autodiagnositcs performs several checks on key aspects of your website to locate any common areas of misconfiguration, including any malware present on a website, if an SSL is active, file permissions, DNS and error logging.

Autodiagnostics can be found by heading to Manage Hosting > Options > Autodiagnostics.
